So Jenica and I didn’t totally plan through our reading bingo board, otherwise I would have had recommendation posts up and ready to go much earlier! But considering I don’t think anyone participating actually plans to stick to their TBR (if they even made one), I figure it’s still helpful to share some recommendations to help get your bingo on.
If you haven’t seen it yet, Jenica at Firewhiskey Reader and I made a bingo board! Jenica was commenting on Twitter that she wanted something similar to the Ripped Bodice bingo to get her through the fall, and I thought it sounded like fun to make one, so we did! And then Jenica’s sister got involved and illustrated it, and the final product is just so cool!! Continue reading
I have a batch of three books by new-to-me authors that I’m excited to talk about today! First up is the new geeky contemporary romance Loathe at First Sight by Suzanne Park, followed by f/f hockey romance Out on the Ice by Kelly Farmer and spooky post-WWI m/m historical Best Laid Plaids by Ella Stainton.
There was a tweet making the rounds earlier this week asking what author people own the most books by, and of course I couldn’t just straight up answer the question and move on. I wanted to get technical and talk about all of the authors I own a lot of books by! So I figured I’d turn this into its own blog post. Continue reading
I’ve been pretty vocal on Twitter about my support for Black Lives Matter, but I want to make sure and register that here on my blog since it’s such an important platform for me. Keep reading to learn more about things I’ve already been doing to support Black authors, and steps I’m planning to take in the future to do better. Continue reading
I wasn’t planning to do another book haul post, but I ordered so many more books that it seemed worth the time! Keep reading to see what I all have to find room on my shelves for. Continue reading
While there are definitely less things to look forward to than usual, fortunately there are still a ton of great books slated to come out this summer! Keep reading to see what romances I’m most excited to get my hands on in the coming months. Continue reading
This is a problem that I think is largely unique to romance, but do you tend to read more in order of a series, or skip around based on the trope you like? Growing up I had favorite authors from whom I’d read anything, but when looking into new books, I didn’t worry at all about the book being part of a series, and instead read whichever one sounded most interesting to me. I’m back with another pair of reviews for my When Old Meets New reading project with Jenica at Firewhiskey Reader! The historicals we’ve been reading have gone steadily downhill, to the point where neither of us was able to finish For the Roses by Julie Garwood. Fortunately Hold Me by Courtney Milan is excellent, which saved this round from being a complete disaster!
